The Homestead Garden includes the following plants:

    1. Hemerocallis 'Pardon Me' Daylilies (Qty: 3) This adorable miniature daylily has 2.75" cranberry red blooms with a narrow yellow watermark and bright green throat. Its elegant petals have pie crust ruffled edges, smooth sepals, and both are slightly recurved. Long blooming and nocturnal - tomorrow's blossoms open during the prior evening. Blooms midseason.Garden Height: 18"

    2. Panicum 'Apache Rose' (Qty: 3) This sturdy plant has a dense, upright, columnar habit with grey-green leaves. In the fall, the tips of the leaves are flushed with a hint of rosy-red. ‘Apache Rose’ has unique rose-colored flower panicles—a welcome color in the fall garden.  Very sturdy, and will remain standing through winter unless snows are heavy.  Provides important cover for birds during the coldest days of winter. Adds graceful texture and movement to the garden and proven deer resistant.

    3. Rudbeckia 'Goldsturm' Black Eyed Susans (Qty: 3) One of the most popular perennials available today, having earned the prestigious Perennial Plant of the Year Award in 1999. Plants have a long season of bloom and a sturdy, upright habit. The gold daisy-like flowers have a distinct dark brown central cone and are held on branching stems. Avoid deadheading to provide winter interest since the black seed heads remain attractive throughout the colder months and the seeds provide a source of food for our small feathered friends.

Hardiness Zone: 4-10 USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map
Shipping: Plants arrive heavily rooted in a 3” x 3” container, 7-10 business days after order is processed

    4. Butterfly Weed (Qty: 3) This easy, long lived perennial, offers months of bright, tangerine orange blooms!  Deadheading the flowers will stimulate another bloom cycle about a month after the first one. Heavily laden with nectar and pollen, these flowers are particularly attractive to hummingbirds, Monarch butterflies, bees, and other beneficial insects.  Gather bountiful bouquets of flowers all summer long; sear the ends of the cut stems over a flame to stop the milky sap from leaking out. Following the fabulous flowers, green fruits develop which rupture to reveal seeds with long, silvery-white, silky hairs reminiscent of its cousin, common milkweed. These are great to use in dried flower arrangements.
