He features 120 Southern recipes peppered with wit, personal anecdotes, gardening tips and cooking tricks. He also includes a short how-to guide in the back of the book that includes information about the food he grows in his garden and some simple ideas on how readers can do the same. This collection includes Allen's favorite recipes, most from his own kitchen and some adapted from family and friends. All are inspired by his own garden.

First off, I wish you guys would have told me that P Allen was going to deliver the book. It got to our home so quickly, I think he must have left the day I ordered it and driven it here himself! I was able to start reading it on Father's Day while using, as a bookmark, a plant card from a just planted Primal Scream Daylily - also a great recommendation from P Allen. The book itself is phenomenal. Really well presented with great recipes from which you can find something to fit any occasion or ingredient availability. And there is a great bonus at the end of the book in the section that outlines how to grow vegetables for your cooking. My wife and I are converting to a more plant-based diet, and we want to grow those vegetables. So this section is extremely helpful in illustrating what to grow, how and when to grow it. Especially given that neither of us have a farming background - unless you count that summer I picked green beans as a teenager to make some extra money. Whew, that was a hot way to make a living in SC!

Love this book, the recipes are so easy to follow and a fun read.. Love the pics too! I was so happy to get this all wrapped up like a present! With a coupon too and it was autographed! Love it!!! We are going through the seasons -- love the idea of eating seasonally -- recipe by recipe and have not been disappointed with any of them. Our favorite frittata ever and the best roasted pepper soup ever are part of these pages! We are vegetarian but have found much to enjoy! Carol on 14th Mar 2015
