Orders will be shipped via FedEx or USPS. Nursery plants will arrive within 14 days of ordering (or when appropriate for your zone/climate).

We occasionally run Free Shipping promotions. Items not eligible for Free Shipping include:

  • Live/fresh cut flowers/plants 
  • Some specialty food items
  • Large furniture
  • Some Drop-Ship Items

Returns Policy

Plant Guarantee

We guarantee our plants for ONE year. We guarantee to provide healthy plants, true to name, and in prime condition for successful planting. We cannot be held responsible for any losses due to extreme weather, soil conditions, improper storage or delayed planting. Please report any shipping damages or missing items upon receipt and they will be sent as soon as we can. If a plant has received our recommended care and doesn’t perform to your satisfaction we will issue a merchandise credit for the full amount of the plant for 1 year after purchase, (we will not reimburse shipping charges).

You may return items (not live plants) within 7 days of delivery for a full refund or store credit (with the exception of consumables and live/fresh cut plant products). See our return process below. Sale or Clearance items are not eligible for refunds unless damaged or defective upon arrival, otherwise store credit is given at the discretion of Shop.  Store credits are valid for one year from issue date. We will pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect, defective, or damaged item, etc.). 

If you need to return an item due to a defect, damage, or not being satisfied, follow these steps:

  1. Simply login to your Shop P. Allen account with your email address and password.
  2. Navigate to the "My Account" tab at the top of the page.
  3. Navigate to the "Completed Orders" tab under the My Account menu and find the order with the item you wish to return.
  4. Click the Return Item(s) button and use the dropdown menu to tell us the reason for the return and action you would like us to take.
  5. We'll notify you via e-mail as to how to proceed. We will either provide you with a return shipping label or in the case of damaged-in-shipping items, have you send photos of the damaged products. 

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days). 


Whenever possible, our items are shipped using recycled boxes and wood fiber packing material (as opposed to foam peanuts). Shop P. Allen and P. Allen Smith are committed to sustainability and environmental consciouslness. 

Most packages are shipped with Shop P. Allen signature tissue paper and ribbon (style and color may vary according to season). Large or very fragile items may be packaged differently.
